Katelyn and Adam were wed on March 26th with a ceremony and reception at The Concourse Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin.
Katelyn is sassy, caring, fun, and slightly introverted. While Adam is outgoing, loud, and silly. This perfect pair met on eHarmony. After a few bad first dates, Katelyn stopped looking at her account. But Katelyn’s mom convinced her to at least check occasionally since she was paying for it. Katelyn noticed a message from Adam that had gone unread for two weeks. The great debate is if Katelyn was ignoring him for two weeks, or truly never saw it!
Going to the pumpkin patch is one of Katelyn and Adam’s favorite fall activities. They went to a new pumpkin patch where they hiked to the top of a scenic overlook. Katelyn and Adam were the only ones up there looking down over the entire pumpkin patch. This is where Adam got down on one knee and asked Katelyn to marry him. She of course said yes!
Katelyn and Adam were expecting their wedding to be one big party with all of our loved ones. They wanted an elegant, but also relaxed and fun. Katelyn and Adam’s vision was elegant, simple, and timeless. They chose an emerald green palette using gold, sage green, and peach for accent colors.
The couple’s flowers are from Naly’s Floral. Katelyn and Adam decided on simple white flowers with peach flower accents and greenery. The floral arraignment that they are most excited about is their flower columns that will be the backdrop to the couple’s ceremony.
Katelyn’s gown is an ivory high neckline illusion lace dress with an A-line silhouette. The full lace back with buttons is one of Katelyn’s favorite features.
Katelyn and Adam’s rings are special to them as each of the three pieces holds family stones from Adam’s side of the family. Katelyn’s engagement is almost entirely family diamonds, and her wedding band contains even more family diamonds. All of the stones in Adam’s wedding ring are family Sapphires.
In place of unity sand, Katelyn and Adam chose to do unity glass. They will each have a different color of glass (ivory and green). After the wedding, the couple will send the glass pieces back to the small business that will turn the unity glass into a one-of-a-kind piece of glass art for them! They chose this special touch as it truly signifies Katelyn and Adam becoming one, and they will have a unique piece of meaningful are to display in their house for all of the years to come.
Katelyn and Adam decided that they did not want the traditional guestbook. They have decided to turn their “welcome” sign into a guest book so loved ones can sign it and then Katelyn and Adam will be able to display it on the walls of their house to remind them of their special day.
When it came to their centerpieces, Katelyn and Adam did not want to go with the traditional large floral arrangements. Instead, they opted for smaller and simpler lanterns and greenery. The couple chose this so that their guests could all see each other around the table and engage in great conversation, as well as enjoy the glow from the lights in the lantern to give a warm and cozy feeling to their early spring wedding.
“Remember that it is your day! Do not try to fit the mold of what a wedding is “supposed” to look like. Open communication and listen to each other’s ideas. Get the big items done right away (venue, food, DJ, photographer) so you can enjoy your engagement and have time to look at the details. Have fun with it!!” – Katelyn + Adam
To say Ali is amazing is an understatement! She made our special day that much better with her energy, upbeat attitude, and amazing attention to detail!
We all know that once the day is done the photos are what allow us to remember our wedding. If you were to ask us out of all the photos we thought were the best, we could quickly answer back with every single one that was our favorite (This is not a joke).
Another aspect that we loved about Ali was her professionalism. She is always available for questions, she responds quickly, and she got all of our photos back much quicker than we anticipated.
We would highly recommend Ali if you are in search of a photographer! She is the best!
Huge thank you to all of the amazing wedding vendors that made Katelyn and Adam’s day run seamlessly. Congratulations Katelyn and Adam on the start of your next great adventure 🙂
