Meet Holly + Derek

Holly and Derek first connected on Bumble. It took quite a while before they actually met up in person.
Eventually, Holly’s friend encouraged her to text Derek and set something up. That message changed everything. They’ve been together ever since and now share their lives with their adorable pup, Lilo, who’s just over a year old.

The Proposal

Derek had been planning the proposal for months. He wanted to wait until he graduated college before taking the next step. On the night of his graduation party, surrounded by friends and family, Derek got down on one knee. Even his family traveled from California to witness the moment, making the proposal even more special.

Wedding Vision + Planning

Holly and Derek dreamed of an outdoor ceremony with a modern, industrial flair. They chose a wedding at Birch in Wauwatosa, which perfectly fit their vision. The goal was to bring loved ones together from California, Illinois, and Wisconsin for one unforgettable day. Their color palette included elegant shades of white, sage, and gold.

All in the Details

The floral arrangements were white blooms with lush greenery to complement the dresses and industrial setting. Instead of a traditional cake, Holly and Derek served Crumbl cookies—a sweet twist that guests loved. Holly’s dress came from Bliss Bridal and looked stunning with her custom DIY Nikes. She added a bedazzled swoosh for some extra sparkle and personality.
