Alyssa and Phillip celebrated their engagement with winter engagement photos at a frozen Wisconsin lake in Hartford, Wisconsin.
This adorable couple originally met at Phil’s best friend’s high school graduation party. Nothing came of it at the time, but they were introduced because they would both be attending Wisconsin Lutheran College in the fall. Later in college, they hung around in the same group of people and grew closer as they were both in the choir. On their freshman year choir tour, they finally started dating. They have been together for three and a half years, and both love football and golf. Most fall Sundays you can find them watching football for the entire afternoon!
Both Phil and Alyssa graduated from WLC in May 2021. Phil is in school to become an occupational therapist and is interested in working in a school setting with students with disabilities. Alyssa now works as a medical researcher in the area of neurosurgery and concussions. She works with a lot of former NFL players and eventually would like to go back to school for her Ph.D. in clinical neuropsychology and is specifically interested in traumatic brain injuries.
For a while, Alyssa and Phil had wanted to take a day trip to Door County. So finally in October, they went sightseeing. At sunset, Phil gave her a gift and proposed. Alyssa was totally surprised. A mystery man who happened to be walking by snapped a photo, and then walked up to them and said sorry to interrupt, but I took a photo of your proposal if you’d like me to text it to you!
Alyssa and Phillip are planning their August wedding at the Trinity Lutheran Church and their reception at Western Lake Golf Course in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Both locations hold a special meaning to them. Trinity Lutheran Church is where their senior year concert was held. While Western Lake Golf Course in Pewaukee highlights the couple’s love of golfing together!
Both Alyssa and Phil are most excited to spend the day with family and friends as well as have a first look before the ceremony to be able to calm the nerves.
