Stefanie and Matt are a very laid-back, go-with-the-flow, and low-maintenance couple. They met each other on Hinge. Matt proposed to Stefanie on the beach in Gulf Shores!
Stefanie and Matt envisioned a very classic wedding with little attention to detail and a focus on dancing and celebrating with friends and family. They both truly had no images in their heads but all the other details just fell into place. Stefanie and Matt’s colors are dark olive green, white/cream, and gold. Their style vision was Gatsby, old Italian/classic, and “mansion feel.”
The cake wasn’t an important detail to Stefanie and Matt so they are simply following tradition and cutting a single layer of cake. The flowers were also not as much of a priority but lucky for them a family friend did an amazing job making their vision come to life. Stefanie and Matt wanted to rustic but classic fall flowers without diving into dark winter colors.
As for favors, since the couple knows most people either forget them or toss them so we decided to donate to two charities instead for money better spent. Stefanie and Matt will be donating to a local dog shelter/rescue and Catholic charities to honor both their faith and love for dogs.
As for the gown, Stefanie had NO idea what she wanted and quickly realized my style was not the “in” thing and had more customizations than expected. Again, lucky for Stefanie, she found Brizan Couture, and Sue personally designed parts of my Maggie Sortero gown. Stefanie’s mother also surprised her at the counter and gifted the gown to Stefanie. According to Stefanie, it really doesn’t get better than that!
Stefanie’s aunt and uncle will be folding 1,000 origami cranes as a Japanese tradition for wishing the couple 1,000 years of happiness and prosperity. The cranes will be displayed in floral vases throughout the venue. Stefanie and Matt will also have their two dogs join them for pictures on the grounds of the mansion which was a huge selling point when picking a venue. The couple is also blessed that Stefanie’s great uncle, who married my parents 37 years ago will marry them at the parish he was a pastor for 25 years.
“Do not stress, this is about you and your commitment to each other; not anyone else. If you do stress, do all the details with a glass of wine or beer in hand; we realized it helps greatly!”
Huge thank you to all of the amazing wedding vendors that made Stefanie and Matt’s day run seamlessly. Congratulations Stefanie and Matt on the start of your next great adventure 🙂
