Baily is free-spirited and independent. While Nick is detailed oriented, easy to talk with, and open minded. Baily and Nick became friends on Facebook and started talking. They grew up a couple towns over from each other and didn’t cross paths until then!
Baily takes care of all of the unwanted spiders that come into the couple’s house. Nick put a fake spider on his lunch box in the garage and began to scream making Baily think she had to kill a spider! When she noticed it was a fake spider, Baily turned around to call Nick out on his joke, and he was down on one knee!
Baily envisioned getting married on top of the highest mountain, just the two of them. However, Baily and Nick decided together that they would like their wedding as simple and relaxing as possible. They also wanted to include the people that have been there for it all…parents and siblings. While it has taken more planning than originally intended, but definitely added more assets to their day!
Baily was inspired by earthy colors and dusty pastels. The intimate ceremony was held at Mason Lake in the evening. The couple had gorgeous ceremony decor carefully designed by Baily herself!
Baily originally didn’t want any decorations, flowers, etc., but then decided to make her own floral arrangement out of dried and artificial flowers. It will be a part of a triangle arbor that Baily’s dad made!
Baily’s gown, was originally a two-piece prom dress. The embellishments were taken off and it was put on the sale rack. It was the first one Baily tried on at the dress shop and fell in love.
Nick and Baily are excited to spend a nice weekend away at a lake house with their close family!
As for a “cake”, Baily and Nick knew they didn’t want a wedding cake and wanted to have desserts everyone enjoys. Both mothers made a few desserts, and the couple picked up their favorites, tiramisu and carrot cake, at the store. YUM!!!
The wedding took place at a dairy barn turned stunning lake house. The arbor and floral arrangements were handmade by Baily and her father. Nick’s sister, Sarah (and with the help from their son Harlow) officiated the marriage!
If you do not want to stress about The Who’s and how’s, then don’t! I never wanted a big fancy wedding, and many people I have talked with always say they should’ve done their wedding how THEY wanted it, and not to make a day to please others.
Huge thank you to all of the amazing wedding vendors that made Baily and Nicholas’s day run seamlessly. Congratulations Baily and Nicholas on the start of your next great adventure 🙂
