As a team of Wisconsin wedding photographers, we’ve captured over 200 celebrations—and Dana and Brett’s wedding was one of the most joy-filled yet. Their day was packed with vibrant color, heartfelt moments, and a celebration that never slowed down. With two photographers, we were able to capture every meaningful detail, from quiet prep to wild dance floor fun.

A Beautiful and Joyful Celebration

From the very beginning, Dana and Brett dreamed of a wedding filled with love, laughter, and color. They wanted the happiest day of their lives to reflect who they are—joyful, intentional, and surrounded by the people who mean the most. That vision came to life in every part of their day.

A Bold and Bright Color Palette

They chose rich shades of blue as their base, then added cheerful, colorful blooms to energize the palette. The vibrant mix brought so much personality to the space and made their celebration feel both lively and elegant. We captured both the bold wide shots and the soft, emotional close-ups that balanced the energy beautifully.

Florals with Deep Meaning

Florals played a central role in the overall design—and in the heart of the day. Bright blooms brought joy, but the most meaningful were the black-eyed Susans—a favorite of the bride’s late father. The groom’s sister even created a custom photo backdrop featuring the flower, and a bouquet of fresh black-eyed Susans was picked from the bride’s family prairie.

These deeply personal touches grounded the day in love and memory. As we captured portraits, we made sure to highlight those florals as a thread connecting generations and emotion.

Personal Touches and DIY Details

Dana and Brett added several DIY details throughout the venue, from the photo backdrop to smaller, sentimental elements. Each piece told part of their story.

Having two photographers allowed us to divide and conquer—speeding up portraits, catching candid laughs, and giving extra hands when someone needed a boutonnière pinned or a veil fluffed. Those quiet moments behind the scenes often end up being just as meaningful as the big ones.

Advice for Future Couples

Their advice to couples planning a wedding? “Enjoy the little things in planning and remember that, in the end, it’s your decision for your day.” We couldn’t agree more.
