Leah + Cody’s Wedding at the Manor at Pinehurst Farms || Sheboygan Falls, WI

WEDDING AT THE MANOR AT PINEHURST FARMS

Leah and Cody were wed on July 23rd with a ceremony at St Eugene and a reception at the Manor at Pinehurst Farms in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin.

MEET LEAH + CODY

Leah and Cody describe themselves as traditional, fun, and silly. They met when Leah was visiting a mutual friend in Louisville while on a physical therapy clinical rotation in Cincinnati. Leah and Cody ended up talking for a long time that night but then didn’t see each other for almost another year when Leah visited Louisville. Eventually, Leah decided to move to Louisville. She ended up living in the same apartment complex as Cody, turns out it was the building next to his. They started dating about 7 months after she moved to Louisville.

Together Leah and Cody love to travel, and hang out with their dog, and with family and friends.

When proposing, Cody decorated the house and was waiting for Leah when she got home from work. He caught Leah off guard, which was his goal as she knew an engagement would happen soon.

WEDDING VISION & PLANNING

Prior to planning our wedding, Leah and Cody envisioned a day filled with family and friends. They wanted a day with elegance, but also a lot of fun to represent their personalities. Leah had always wanted to get married in her home state, despite now living in Louisville. Max and Leah envisioned pictures on the steps of Leah’s home church and a fun afternoon taking pictures by Lake Michigan. Their colors are blue and burgundy with a splash of greenery and pink. Cody’s favorite color is red and blue is one of Leah’s favorite colors. They had to be creative to avoid red, white, and blue-themed wedding in July.

ALL IN THE DETAILS

The couple’s flowers were a mix of DIY from Costco and using a Bayside Floral Design. Leah loved the floral bouquets that they made for her sister’s wedding using white Costco roses and knew she wanted to do the same for her wedding. For her bouquet, the groomsman boutonnieres, and the corsages, Leah wanted to leave it to the experts to help bring their wedding colors and floral variety to life. They included white roses, blue thistle, pink carnations (a tribute to her grandfather), and burgundy hypericum berries.

Leah found her dress at a small bridal boutique in Louisville (Sher’sBridal). She enjoyed working with Sher and her team as they were very personable and spent extra time to make sure it was what she wanted. Leah has always wanted a dress with lace and sparkle, and her dress was exactly that. She loved how the sparkle was in a layer under the soft lace, so the dress was also very comfortable. When doing alterations, she shortened the lining in the train to make the lace detail and scalloped train stand out even more.

Leah and Cody love Costco and Costco cake, so what better thing to have at their wedding? Throughout the pandemic, they often called their trips to Costco their date nights.

Cody had a custom engagement and wedding band made for Leah. After finding Cody’s wedding band, Cody asked to have it engraved on the inside with scalloped details from her rings, tying them together.

DIY ELEMENTS

Leah and Cody love football. Leah is a huge Green Bay Packer fan while Cody is a University of Georgia alum and huge Bulldog fan. Their table numbers were some of their favorite players and their jersey numbers. They love finding decorations with a “neutral G” to represent both teams.

Leah and Cody wanted simple, low-maintenance centerpieces. They decided to go with vases with blue and burgundy floating pearls with floating candles for their centerpieces.

Leah and Cody are close with their parents and grandparents, and each couple has shown them a strong marriage. They had a table with wedding portraits of their parents and grandparents. On the other side of the table, they included pictures of themselves with their grandparents who are no longer alive to help incorporate them into their day and remember happy days spent together.

ADVICE TO OTHER BRIDES

“Once the major things are booked, the other details will fall into place slowly. Know the few things you have to have and want most. You can tie in your interests with the small details.” -Leah + Cody
