Sara and Antonni were wed on June 17 with a ceremony at St. Robert’s and reception at Tuscan Hall in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Sara and Antonni describe themselves in terms of pets! Sara is like a cat while Antonni is like a dog, hahaha. They are both very go-with-the-flow kind of people. Antonni is very friendly, cheerful, kind, and patient. Sara is friendly, but not quite as patient 🙂 She is very direct and tells things like they are while also being cheerful and optimistic. In group settings, Sara is typically quiet and reserved because she likes to watch others and learn about them.
Sara and Antonni had to take an improv theatre class at UWM for the Interpreter Training Program. One week, everyone said, “Next week, after class, we are all going to go get pizza.” The next week came, and no one remembered it but Antonni and I. At that point, they had only spoken briefly a couple of times. Without realizing it both were attempting to get people to stick with the pizza plans.
Finally, Antonni said, “That’s fine but I haven’t eaten all day so I am going to go get food.” Sara had no more plans for the day so she told him she’d tag along. Sara followed him to Outpost where we sat and talked for three hours until the waiter started putting the chairs up on the tables. They talked about everything: philosophy, theology, science, kids, sex, families. Both Sara and Antonni are very intentional people with the way they live their lives and interact with others. They don’t beat around the bush and don’t see a need to wait to discuss those things. Though, at the time, Sara wasn’t even interested in him haha. They ended up talking every day after that! Sara and Antonni have been together for three and a half years now.
Together the couple likes playing cards, going to cafes, and going on random adventures. By adventures, they mean driving to places they’ve never been before. Sara and Antonni like to walk around and look at other people’s houses and talk about their future kids.
Sara came home from an interview thinking that Antonni was working on his brother’s car. Sara was so exhausted that she sat in her car for 15 minutes when she arrived home. When she finally went inside, Sara found Antonni kneeling on her living room floor in his best suit with rose petals around him and a huge nervous smile on his face.
Behind him, he had a table set up with the cookies they had on our first date (cranberry cookies from Outpost yum), a huge bouquet, and the couple’s journal. From the start of their relationship, Sara and Antonni have kept a journal documenting their journey together and their dreams for the future for them and their children to look back on. He had written in it something like, “Today is the day, babe! I am finally proposing to you….” At the bottom, he had two little boxes to check, “yes or yes.”
Huge thank you to all of the amazing wedding vendors that made Sara and Antonni’s day run seamlessly. Congratulations, Sarah and Antonni, on the start of your next great adventure 🙂
