Heather and Paul were wed on May 28th with a ceremony and reception at Pine Hill Golf Course in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Heather and Paul meet because their kids both attended Highland Fight Systems and became friends. Heather describes herself as shy until you get to know me, while Paul is easygoing and likes to joke. Together, Heather and Paul enjoy going biking, swimming and walking. They also enjoy having dinner together, watching a movie, and trying new things.
Heather and Paul wanted their wedding to be simple but elegant. They went with a color palette of burgundy, blush, ivory, champagne, green, and white. The flowers are soft and romantic, while Heather tried to make eye-grabbing in everything else. This includes her three-dimensional styled hair, bold makeup, royal blue uplighting, tall centerpieces, and the men’s charcoal grey tuxes with black button-up shirts.
Heather’s bouquet is cascading as well as soft and romantic. It incorporated their colors, except for burgundy was intentionally left out of her bouquet along with the flower girl’s flowers, groom’s boutonniere, and ring bearer’s flowers. The remaining bridal party flower, centerpieces, and decor incorporate burgundy throughout.
Heather’s gown is from the White Dress boutique in Milwaukee. Heather choose Maggie Sottero’s dress, “Delilah.” Heather had magnet/bottle openers created with our names/wedding date ordered from a small shop through Etsy. The cake was a two-tier chocolate cake with cherry filling and cream cheese frosting. It featured a burgundy ribbon and flowers from Barebuds cascading down the side. The couple’s initials will also be on the cake. The cake was just one of the many dessert options available to guests. Other options included: oreo tortes, tiny cheesecakes, strawberry shortcakes, and more!
“We recommend holding your ceremony and reception at the exact location. We were able to reuse flowers, have no transportation costs, didn’t feel as rushed, and were more able to enjoy the moment, and overall it made planning more manageable.
I also recommend planning dress shopping way ahead of time. My dress took almost four months to arrive, and I told it was quick. You want to have the dress early enough to do alterations (plan for two months at least) and have time to shop.
Lastly, stick to your budget. It is easy to start indulging and offering to pay for bridesmaids’ dresses and alterations, and tuxes. Overspending a little hear and there landed me over budget.”
