Jenna considers herself a laid-back and friendly person who likes routine but also adventures. While Griffin is also laid back and easy-going he is a little more introverted when it comes to large groups! This adorable couple met on OKCupid, when Griffin messaged Jenna! Just a few weeks later they met up at Tipsy Cow in downtown Madison and the rest is history!
Griffin had the difficult task of planning a proposal to Jenna during a pandemic. So, when they decided to have a date night at home to celebrate living together for one year it seemed like the perfect opportunity! Jenna and Griffin got carry-out dinner from the same restaurant they went to on their second date. They played games and had a few drinks. When they got up to refresh our drinks in the kitchen, Griffin gave Jenna an extra long hug and said, “I got you a gift.” Griffin showed Jenna the ring, then knelt down, and asked her to marry him! 🙂
When planning their wedding Jenna and Griffin wanted to get married outside in the summertime surrounded by greenery and their loved ones. They are so excited that despite a few expectations the wedding turned out exactly how they had envisioned!
Both Jenna and Griffin love the color blue. Plus, Jenna is 50% Greek and the Greek flag is blue as well. To them, it was an easy choice to make their wedding color palette blue!
Jenna and Griffin describe their wedding as perfect! Great weather, great venue, and a great photographer! Their favorite moment of the day was saying their personalized vows to each other.
Jenna and Griffin didn’t want anything extravagant and just wanted to keep things simple. For bouquets, they decided on flowers from Costco because they were beautiful and budget-friendly.
The very first dress Jenna tried on, which was at David’s Bridal, she thought “this is nice” but it wasn’t love at first sight. Jenna had a vision for her dress and it wasn’t quite the one. She went to many other stores with different friends/family and tried on so many different dresses. As Jenna saw all the options, she changed her vision of the perfect dress. Little did she know that she would end up coming back to that first dress at David’s Bridal and loving it.
As for the cake, Jenna’s co-worker is also a certified baker and has done wedding cakes. She agreed to make theirs as well! Since both Jenna and Griffin are chocolate lovers so it was an easy decision and simple design.
Jenna’s sister always did her make-up growing up for dances at school (prom, homecoming, etc) so
she continued the tradition by applying Jenna’s wedding day makeup. They did a super fun virtual experience where the ladies learned about the best products to use and then a stylist virtually walked them through how to apply the makeup.
A very special and unique element was Jenna’s cousins singing and playing guitar in the ceremony. Jenna’s parents also planted a variety of different flowers that they used for centerpieces!
Jenna recommends couples keep an open mind while planning! You might have a vision prior to planning, but some things could change as you look at all the options.
Huge thank you to all of the amazing wedding vendors that made Jenna and Griffin’s day run seamlessly. Congratulations Jenna and Griffin on the start of your next great adventure 🙂
