Looking for your perfect wedding photographer, but not sure where to start? Here are 3 things to ask your potential wedding photographer that will get you on the right path to picking your perfect photographer!
When I think that when choosing a photographer, couples should look for a person they feel comfortable with. As a wedding photographer, I am with my couples the entire day, so it’s important our personalities mesh well. I work towards setting my clients at ease so that their wedding images document the true emotion of the day.
Look at your potential photographer’s style and compare it to what you had pictured for your own wedding images. Do you want posed or unposed images? Do you have a preferred style of editing (ie: true to color, light and airy, dark and moody). Looking at a wedding photographer’s portfolio and chatting with them about how they go about shooting a wedding day is a great way to view their style.
How does the photographer run their business? For example, effective communication and client convenience is an important part of my business. I want the process to be as smooth and stress-free as possible for my couples, which is why I communicate often, and all contracts, questionnaires, and invoices can be completed online. It is just one less thing my couples have to worry about!
It’s also a great idea to ask your photographer their workflow for after the wedding. Do they back up the images so potential data loss is minimized? When can you expect your images completed? How will they be delivered? All information you will want to know after your wedding when you are excited to see the photos!
In the end, choose a wedding photographer that best meets your needs and you feel most comfortable with!
